Finca 6 is the second archaeological site open to the public in Costa Rica, along with Guayabo. It’s one of few cases with conserved residential constructions having associated stone spheres. Some of the spheres present are in situ, meaning they have never been removed since their discovery.

It’s located in the community of Finca 6-11, in Palmar Sur of Osa, Puntarenas, on the Diquís delta. Lands extend over a vast plain formed by the confluence of rivers Sierpe and Grande de Térraba. 

Opening hours

Open: from Tuesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Closed: Mondays, for maintenance. 

National fee 2021

Nationals: ¢1500 (one thousand five hundred colones). 

Children under 12 years-old: Free entry for all nationals

Students with identity card:  Free entry for all nationals

Senior citizens over 65: Free entry for all nationals

Foreigners fee 2021

Adults: $7

Identified foreign students: $5

Guided visits for Schools, High Schools and Universities

• Educational guided visits:

Are aimed at schools, high schools and universities of the region and the country in general; are delivered in Spanish language.    

• Community groups with educational interest and non-educational institutions:

            Are received prior assessment of the Visitors Center staff. 

• Tourists and tour operators: 

For guided visits you should contact local guides, since the museum doesn’t offer visits in English for the time being.

Request by letter:

Include the institution’s name (preferably with logo, letterhead or seal of the educational center), the visit´s goal and topic of interest, number of students and signature of responsible professor.
